What is Puh-Lay-Oh?

Yummy! Fresh cow pie!
One of the largest factors of weight loss, muscle gain, CrossFit performance and overall feeling of well being is diet. I think Bill Cosby said it best with his book You Are What You Eat. How true. Eat like crap and you will not only feel like crap, but you’ll perform like crap too. What does crap feel like? Well, it’s kind of soft and squishy I’d imagine.
One of the questions I get asked the most is, “What is this Puh-layo diet?”

The FDA food pyramid is cow pie friendly.
“Well,” I respond, “the Pay-Lee-Oh diet is really simple. You eat meat and veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar.”
Then comes the inevitable, “What about grains?”
“Nope.”
“Even whole grains?”
“That’s still a grain.”
“So potatoes are good, right?”
“In small quantities, hence the ‘little starch.’”
“Oh. . . That sounds like it sucks.”
